Luke Manning

Luke is a lifelong lover of golf, passionate about playing, watching and covering golf. His earliest memories of golf stem all the way back to his childhood where he would walk the course with his Dad who took up golf as a hobby after retiring from representative and club cricket.

Luke started playing golf as a junior, joining The Brisbane Golf Club in his early teenage years. Since then, golf has been an integral part of his life, whether that be playing in club competitions, traveling with mates on various golf tours or watching professional golf tournaments. A major highlight for Luke was having the opportunity to attend the 2017 Masters at Augusta National Golf Club when Sergio Garcia claimed the coveted Green Jacket.

Luke is currently a member of the Royal Queensland Golf Club with a handicap of 8 (aiming to get to 5 if he can put some practice hours in!!!). He also is the founder and editor of The Shank Show Newsletter which is a weekly golf newsletter that provides readers with a fresh and fun take on the world of professional golf.

As a lawyer, experienced executive and father of four, golf provides balance and a competitive sporting outlet for Luke. He is excited to join up with Jake Hower to co-host the Beyond The Tour Golf Show. Luke calls things as he sees them and has a strong interest in seeing professional golf expand globally, particularly in Australia where fans have been starved of seeing the best golfers play our great courses on a regular basis.

Jake Hower

Unlike his co-host Luke who grew up immersed in golf, Jake’s love affair with the game blossomed later in life after moving to the Mornington Peninsula in 2015. Living on the doorstep of the Moonah Links golf complex, Jake quickly became obsessed with mastering the nuances of the sport.

His dedication paid off as he rapidly honed his skills, briefly reaching the lofty heights of a 1.8 handicap. Jake is currently a member at Portsea Golf Club, where he can often be found honing his game when not working or spending time with his wife and two children.

While golf wasn’t a part of Jake’s childhood which was occupied with AFL football, surfing, tennis, cricket and other outdoor pursuits, he has made up for lost time. An avid viewer of professional and elite amateur events whenever he can, Jake relishes any opportunity to witness the game’s best players up close.

Mostly spent in the travel industry, owning businesses since 2009, Jake’s professional experience has fueled his passion for golf travel and exploring the world’s greatest courses. He has been creating content online since 2012 to promote his businesses. Jake is excited to grow the Beyond The Tour Golf Show and expand into sports-focused media.

He is thrilled to co-host alongside his friend Luke. Jake brings a fresh perspective to the game, having discovered his obsession with golf later in life, along with an entrepreneurial mindset from his business background.
